Home or Business flooding can happen for a number of reasons – burst pipes, basement leaks and seepages due to improper landscaping or structural issues, leaky roofs or storms – but no matter how the water comes in, there is always the potential for serious water damage. For any flood, no matter how large or small, it is of utmost importance that your home undergoes emergency clean up and is inspected immediately to reduce the risk of permanent damage or risks to your health.

At Emergency Services NJ, we understand the value of a swift response. Our team is ready to assess and clean up flood damage around the clock, any day of the week. When flood damage is neglected, even for a few hours, the damage and health risks grow exponentially. As a true and committed emergency response team, we are dedicated to immediate action. We perform water damage restoration in three categories as laid out by the IICRC’s S-500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration.

The categories are:

Category 1: Clear Water

Category 1 water comes from clean sources such as toilet tanks, faucets, and clean water supply lines. Our Category 1 services consist primarily of vacuum, industrial drying, mold removal, and mold remediation. However, clear water can become contaminated once it comes in contact with other substances, so we also assess affected areas for further damage.

Category 2: Grey Water

Grey water is water that contains other substances that are either relatively harmless, such as soap, or mildly harmful, such as urine. If left untreated, grey water can degrade quickly and begin to spread contaminants to the area. We vacuum and perform contamination control, deodorization, and industrial drying in Category 2 situations.

Category 3: Black Water

Category 3 water contains immediately harmful and highly dangerous contaminants such as sewage or microbial growth. Our black water services include industrial drying, sterilization, decontamination, and deodorization. We apply our services to both structural and content damage. Structural damage refers to the elements such as walls, frames, floors, and beams. Content services refer to furniture, electronics, and household items. We first remove water and contaminants and do what we can to salvage the home and its contents. We then perform industrial drying techniques to ensure that mold growth and other harmful side effects of flood damage do not occur.
